Updates all packages to latest versions. Fixes #323 and another bunch of compatibility problems.

@kutyel I've been doing some maintenance work in the project, could you have a look and approve/reject?

@kutyel something weird happened, you seemed to have force-pushed the master branch and now GHC was acting weird. I reverted that change, so now the tip of the repo is what it should be.
