Error calling method on NPObject! (2.2) #389

What steps will reproduce the problem?

0. Upgrade from swfobject 2.1 to 2.2
1. Unistall flash
2. Reinstall an old version of flash (fp8_r42)(for instance)
3. Go to page on my local development server
4. Even when on a page without flash swf I get the folowing error from firebug
5. expressinstall.swf is not showing and the flash version is not updating
as it does with 2.1 swfobject

---------------------------------------------------------------
Error calling method on NPObject!
anonymous()swfobject.js (line 202)
testPlayerVersion()swfobject.js (line 200)
main()swfobject.js (line 179)
callDomLoadFunctions()swfobject.js (line 135)
[Break on this error] var d = t.GetVariable("$version");\r\n
---------------------------------------------------------------

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

With SwfObject 2.1 I get the expressInstall.swf appearing to prompt me to
upload (all works as intended) I am expecting the same to occur with 2.2 -
the flash player version is below the version I need (or have defined is
needed) so it should prompt the expressInstall.swf to appear. But this is
not working I belive as intended and causing the above error in firebug and
also expressinstall.swf is not showing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am currently using 2.1, I saw you have a new version so yesterday I
upgraded to 2.2 - began testing today and it failed so have reverted back
to 2.1,
I am on XP professional, currently on a local WAMP setup dev setup, using
firefox Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 GTB5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729).

Please provide any additional information below.

I have the exact same issue, but can't find how to make it work with the 2.2
version
of SWFObject on Firefox. Works great on IE.
