Sometimes transparency makes text unreadable in VSC when there are hi-contrast black and white background apps in the back. This would definitely help a lot. https://github.com/arkenthera/electron-vibrancy

Adding background blur is a great idea. With blur, vscode would look like it was designed with Windows 10's acrylic and fluent design in mind.

On Windows 8.x, this wont work because Microsoft completely removed Aero Glass feature. It is still possible though but it is not something that an end user should do. See Platforms section for more info.

But can we set a vibrancy cover between system and vscode?

Bump. This seems cool. Just came across this extension https://github.com/eyhn/vscode-vibrancy but it overrides your background color and it doesn't consistently make things transparent.

Bump, id like to be able to choose to keep my existing colour scheme with a blurred background

This would be very cool. It would match 100% with Windows 11 aesthetics. Any ideas if they're working on implementing this?
