Fixes #48; stop "rolling back" while transitioning for hide #66

Hey there! This is great, it's just what I was looking for.

I was having a problem, though, with the transition when the progress bar is hiding. I noticed there's an open issue for it, so I thought I'd try to submit a fix. I hope my changes are ok with you.
