suggestions from @mantl002:

Hiltaba location and history information:

The Hiltaba Nature Reserve adjoins the northern edge of the Gawler Ranges National Park, around 100 km inland from Streaky Bay, or a 70km detour from the Eyre Highway. The reserve covers 78,000 hectares of land including magnificent granite hills, diverse grass and woodlands, 40 state-listed species and nine species listed by the Commonwealth for their conservation significance. Until 2012 Hiltaba was a working sheep station, though overgrazing caused significant damage to the property. In 2012 the property was purchased by the Nature Foundation. Subsequent conservation efforts by the foundation have been remarkably successful.

General Attractions

There are two campsites situated on site at Pretty Point and near the Shearers Quarters. More accommodation is available at either the cottages near the homestead or a refurbished Shearers Quarters a kilometre down the road. Five nature walks have been constructed and two nature drives. These have been designed to allow people to observe the diverse range of ecosystems, flora and fauna and the amazing geological formations on the site whilst minimising environmental impact. Station managers are usually available to take visitors on a tour of the site.
