Hiltaba offers a diverse group of walking trails with varying difficulties. Each walking trail exhibits its own unique fascinating scenery and panoramic views. The walking trails are shown below in the table.

It is important to note that the trails have different difficulties.

All walkers should wear weather-protective clothing and strong footwear, carry an adequate supply of water (min. 2 litres per person), as well as an adequate supply of food. It is recommended that you do not walk alone. UHF Duplex ch6 can be used in an emergency. Limited Telstra mobile coverage may be available from higher points. - Nature Foundation SA

Each trail has accompanying notes which can be accessed via the links below.

The Bob and Betty Lewis walk

The Bob and Betty Lewis walk opened in 2015. The walk starts from the Pretty Point Camping Ground and is a 1.8km loop, that takes you to the superb Pretty Point Summit (310m) which boasts incredible views. There are a couple of steeper sections and obstacles, therefore some bush walking experience is recommended. Mallee, Quandong and Pittosporum trees can be observed along the path, there are also notable Granite outcrops and boulders.

barb

The Barbara Hardy walk is a rewarding 6km loop that winds up a number of steep and rough sections to the summit which exhibits views of the airstrip and Lake Acraman. Native flora including Bullock Bush, Gawler Ranges Grevillea and Dodonea can be seen along the path. This trail is recommended for bush walkers with experience.

bon

The Mark Bonnin trail is the longest in the reserve, it includes 3 trails which have varying difficulties. The green track takes visitors on a short 2.7km return walk via two waterfalls. For a longer walk, visitors can continue along the blue trail which loops back to the start after taking a more difficult path through a rocky gorge. The red trail splits from the blue trail and continues up from the gorge to the Lookout. The Lookout offers stunning views of the reserve and hosts the radio repeater. Grevillea, Acacia and native trees can be seen along path.

warren

The Warren Bonython loop walk takes visitors on a 10km loop and visits the Mt. Hiltaba summit at 450m which displays impressive panoramic views of the surrounding reserve. The trail is steep, rough and the trail might be difficult to follow through sections, which is why users must experience walks and register at the Homestead before undergoing the walk.

davo c

The David Cleland walk is relaxing and takes visitors from the Shearers Quarters through to the Pretty Point Campground. Old paddocks cropped up to the 1960s can be seen while following an old fence. Wombat burrows are plentiful through this area and making Wombat sightings occur quite often.

nice work, pasted into site and popups. Not closed yet as no images added: I feel they are prehaps not necessary, opinions?
