There's a function to "query service dynamic information" which supports one documented piece of data: START_REASON.
There's no explanation as to what is returned but know why the service has been started is nice for debugging so it would be good to investigate and implement seeing this information (either as a column in the service table, or in some kind of log "Service started because xxx").
