Standalone mode does not work #131

Reported @1.8.15 through forums:

> on my 32 Bit Win 7 Machine the "Roaming settings" mode does not work at all. Compatible
mode for old Wakan works fine, but is not recoverable, when these kinds of bugs kill
it.

> - whenever I try to run any of these modes I get the following message: 
> Cannot load Wakan: EAccess Violation: Access Violation at address 005A65CC in module
wakan.exe; write of address 0000001C 
> - when I try to run Standalone the following message comes along with the above one:
Cannot load main dictionary file. File Wakan.chr is corrupted. Application will now
exit.

Cannot reproduce on my installation; perhaps just a by-product of Issue 125, but I'll
keep this report open until it's confirmed that 1.8.16 (where Issue 125 is fixed) works.
