Dictionary having entries both for SOFA and SOFA- might have something to do with this.
Or, dictionary entry having reading as SOFA and kanji as SOFA- or vice versa.

Apparently the problem appears when the replacement kanji is longer than the kana entered.
The pair:
い 五十
Also suffers from this (only 五 is highlighted after replacement)

Fixed @r731 by deleting a line in SetWordTrans which used dicresult.slen for "word length"
instead of the length of GetDocWord()'s result. I wonder if it was there for a reason.
Time will tell.
