Valid json files are being declared "not json" if it doesn't have a json extension #36

This is probably minor but files that are valid json don't need a json extension (or if they do that should be documented).

Reclassifying this as an enhancement, as the json file extension check was intended behaviour.

I have addressed it in PR #37, so it just needs merging and publishing to npm by @himynameisdave :smile:
