Over Scan Issue #14

Open NickDeBeenSAE opened 2 years ago

I have an over scan issue, and its not my Smart TV that's producing it.

If a fix to force the distro to go into an "emulated" monitor display for example can be programmed, that'll fix this issue on TV's for good.

What I'm trying to get at is, every time I boot PSXITArch, it know's a display is connected, but it refuses to re-adjust the screen size to fit the TV.

It's as if the distro doesn't realistically know what it's connected to.

Photo's have been posted in Open Orbis Discord.

Same thing happens to me however I just change the picture mode on the TV to "custom" and it all aligns correctly. I have a Samsung Q80R 65"

Very strange, :/, my TV was a 4K Smart TV like yours (without all the goodies that Samsung devices come with).

It is an iViano STV55 Android Marshmallow Smart TV.

Its not very "Smart" either, as the iViano servers themselves stopped supporting it as soon as I got it.

It also does not have a custom mode.

Sounds rather simple but have you tried changing the aspect ratio of your TV? I'm pretty sure that's all changing picture mode on a Samsung does..

NickDeBeenSAE commented 2 years ago

No, this is not required on a 16:9 aspect ratio locked TV.

Remember, my TV is cheap s***, and doesn't come with a lot of the features that big name brand TV's do.
