Stale information in provider-latest #122

It appears there is stale information in https://asset-packagist.org/p/provider-latest/1e509981df96c68be15d5028c70ce77b73787ea2a73bb03646f691d0df204c63.json which is a problem with newer versions of composer.

I've opened an issue because it crashes composer 2 even though the package is not required (as seen by a successful install of 1.10.7). However, the fact that a stale package is contained is probably an issue with this repository too.

A composer maintainer has indicated that this problem needs to be fixed in the repository and is a problem regardless of Composer version: https://github.com/composer/composer/issues/9014#issuecomment-651133778

However, the new composer behaviour (preload all package information) makes this an impediment for updating to Composer version 2.

The JSON file is too large and will be downloaded again every time
