as we can see here :
http://www.cybershade.org/modules/codebase/view/omegle-spam-bot-191.html
this happens when omegle shows a captcha.
A wonderfull way to solve this would be to get and show this captcha to the
user to solve it...
Also, im not sure that the solution proposed on
http://www.drusepth.net/content/perl-omegleirc-bridge-bot helps (stop and
restart), if someone could verify that stop and start is actualy a bypass tothe
captcha.... (that would be too easy imho)
my two cents...

this is happening to me, some people say this is because you need to go to
omegle.com and enter the captcha, but i never see the captcha online. help?

@pmwoodward3 :
As far as i know : that's not true :
Using this and using a browser to chat in omegle are completely separate.
Having to type a captcha in one of them are completely separated.
meaning : typing a captcha with your browser wont unblock the omegle-spy.

@grosronan well people on 4chan are reporting the "Please reload the page for
technical reasons." error. People said the captcha thing worked for them.
Anyone have ANY idea what is wrong? It worked for me for about 10 min then
craped out, downloaded it many times.

The owner of Omegle knows about this program and has updated his code to block
it. See here:
http://www.reddit.com/comments/d2nbs/omeglespy_spy_on_intercept_spoof_omegle/
eurleif (Omegle owner): I've seen a few uses of relay bots before, but not
enough to make me spend any time on them. For whatever reason, this particular
incarnation got a bit popular recently, so I took the time to block it.

@ben.taunton I was able to use omegle-spy this morning, 8/19/10, so I dint know
if the code hasn't taken effect, it if it's not effecting omegle-spy, but I can
stil use it until I get the please reload page error. But then after a few
hours it works again.

it was trivial to patch. i reworked it to use Apache HttpClient and mimiced the
convo from a normal Firefox. Also, keep the cookies separate, and pop a window
for the captcha and input the text, post it back to google-apis - and the game
is still on.

@dunkingbikkits the fix addresses the reload page error completely? And is it
live now? Because I just downloaded it again and still get the error after 5-15
min
Original comment by pmwoodwa...@gmail.com
on 19 Aug 2010 at 9:32
no, i just dl:ed the source and Apache HttpClient and did it locally. not the
owner of this project. fix and fix though, it forces you to enter a captcha,
and if you're not fast enough ppl tend to disconnect the convo.

sure, i removed the http client requirements(its not even needed with the assy
detection run by omegle) and zipped up the new source for you.

"Ok, so I added some code to Omegle that blocks this using a simple heuristic.
Obviously, we can get into a cat and mouse game where you guys add code that
camouflages what you're doing, and I modify my code to detect it more
accurately, but I'd really prefer if we didn't have to do that."

also @emptyhandedhero : could you do a new google code project for this ?
it would be good to track bugs, or modify when eurleif makes another change to

@emptyhandedhero - sorry bout that. I was to busy feeling queasy about the
coding done for this client to bother about stuff like make files.
but an arms race is always fun - until Omegle is willing to kick out any user
behind a NAT this will get interesting.

Original comment by grosronan@gmail.com

@23: yup, I retested the captcha fix and entering the captcha incorrectly is
the cause of your error.
Someone should probably add a timer to that "Finding two strangers" phase so it
can time out after a while if you f-ck up the captcha.

The server URL could be fetched trivially from the inital response from

The current patched version has roughly 300 people on it at all times, and
guess what - those are 99% bots. (Spammers) , The old version still pings for
about 4000 users a any time but still says please reload for tech diff. Leif
did something to pool bots together, can we get verification and a new work
around?

@TTGBRADF
What did you change? Perhaps I should make a new code page for this, it does
need some update and upkeep.
I have added the captcha box myself awhile ago. I don't know what anyone here
is saying about servers, i have been using bonjor for ever now.
Really besides adding the captcha, a realistic auto connect speed (called
autopilot on original), mimic'd a firefox browser headers, and mostly looks
(took out the stupid 'DESPERATION' thing).
@TTGBRADF & @DUNKINGB : Would you go into this thing with me? If either one of
you is interested in upkeeping the project with me i will do it, otherwise i
wont bother and anyone that wants an updated version let me know..

Oh wow, yeah i just tried the one @EMPTYHANDS posted (the one he just compiled
for u all) the captcha boxes appear like crazy! like every convo! The little
touches I added to make it seem more human must really help, I only get 1 every
10 convo's i spy on.
Now i really want to share it, anyone who wants it let me know. if you all
really want a new Omegle spy thats upkept then i think i will start a new code
page. might be fun, its been a while sense i have coded anything random people
have used.

Please do it, I don't know much about coding but Omegle spy hasn't been updated
for ever. It would be great if you made a new code page and released your
version.

heres a screenshot of my version, i updated it i guess just call it OmegleSpyX
Resurrection for now... look for it in the google code pages.. ill put it up in
a few days..
as you can see most of my changes are behind scenes so it doesnt look very
different besides some cosmetic changes.. which are still nice, i hated the old
GUI, crappy font and so on..
Anyways, what kind of changes would everyone else like? post them here for now
as I do not check my email often although once i start the new omeglespy i will
start checking it again i guess.
like how does everyone feel about the random names? i kind of think they suck
but didnt feel like taking any time to remove the code for just me.
