Connecting CUPS printer #30

Closed CRAR14 closed 5 years ago

Hi, I'm using an Epson tm-m30 printer connected to the pi via cups. I have entered a transaction but it has not printed a ticket yet. How do I know if it recognizes my printer?

Shaggs commented 5 years ago

In printer settings (cups) have you made this the default printer?

In IOTpos settings have you adjusted all the sizes?

CRAR14 commented 5 years ago

I'm able to print now, however the logo seems too big for the paper? I have adjusted the size in cups and they output the same size still. Is there something wrong with the size of the logo itself or can I adjust it in iotpos?

How big is your logo?

From memory this is an issue I had but can't remember if I did anything about it or just removed the logo.

On staying that as a business owner my self priming logos on recpits is a waste of ink and paper. Most people look at it once and in the bin it goes. Your better off just printing your store name, saves paper and ink.

CRAR14 commented 5 years ago

I can't tell how big, but it prints about 3/4s of the logo. Fair point on the waste of ink, I'll see if I'll still use it on the receipt layout. If I may ask, is there a way to choose 'configure iotpos' once the operation starter? I keep quitting the program just so I can edit the printer settings.

Also, would this pos suit a restaurant? now that I have gone through it, it seems like it was designed for a supermarket?

@CRAR14 you can just logout and log back in again that will solve that issue.

I have adapted this to work at a small bar so restaurant would also work you just have to make products meals thats all.

@diaAbdoul try being helpful
