Identifier Role Vocabulary - upgrade? #131

"upgrade" seems like the wrong terminology to me. It makes a judgment on the value of the identification in relation to the previous one. If it refers to, as the definition says, a "taxonomic update based on literature", why not just call it an update?

+1 for change to update

I think we should ditch both the vocabulary and the property (term). Also, the term is identifierRole. This "upgrade" is a reason for changing the name on a specimen. The identifierRole is still det. There is at least one herbarium using "upgrade", which is the only reason it is in the vocabulary. Let's not create a new term and encourage bad practice.

The proper way to deal with this situation is to give the herbarium as the determiner (dwc:identifiedBy). This can be done using only existing Darwin Core concepts.

I'm okay with that. I guess if you didn't think you were upgrading the identification by updating the name, you wouldn't bother doing it.
