I'm seeing the same behaviour, after a few hours:
date && sudo htop; date Wed Nov 13 18:42:43 +08 2019 Password: Unable to get kinfo_procs: Cannot allocate memory Wed Nov 13 22:00:14 +08 2019
me too, several hours after just sudo htop
Happened to me just a few seconds after starting it.
Same issue here. Happens quite frequent. Did recently upgrade to Catalina 10.15.2. Maybe that's related?
$ htop
Unable to get kinfo_procs: Cannot allocate memory
Same here, happens very often now!
Same issue over here on Catalina
Same issue here. Catalina 10.15.3

Happening for me as well.
htop 2.2.0 macOs 10.15.4
Same for me. htop version 2.2.0 on macOS Catalina 10.15.4 Happens after "a while" -- which is about a couple of hours.
Same here on macOS Catalina 10.15.4: Unable to get kinfo_procs: Cannot allocate memory

MacOS: 11.0 Beta 1 htop: 2.2.0
Same issue here. Catalina
Same issue, MacOS: 10.15.4, htop: 2.2.0
+1, htop 2.2.0 - macOS Catalina 10.15.6
One more. Immediate with sudo. Within minutes not using sudo.
macOS Catalina 10.15.1
Homebrew
htop v2.2.0_1
. After a day or so of happily htop-ping, my htop halts with the error message:no other message or odd behavior. My system has 64GB of memory, and most of it is "inactive" according to htop, so it's not physical memory I'm running out of.
