Maps crash when loading them up in blender #6

Is there any way to optimise a map so they dont crash apon loading? im only interested in getting the map models and materials. (half life 2 maps btw)

The models and materials can already be accessed by adding the archive as an asset library.

The only reasons I can imagine for Blender crashing is a low version of Blender and insufficient computer specifications
