It seems like a lot of the confusion in Issue #34 is about whether we're talking about adding Person microformats to displays of historical records, or adding HistoricalRecord microformats to other displays. Perhaps we need some draft examples on historical-data.org to give us some more concrete things to talk about? Providing examples of what mark-up to apply to a will, a deed, a marriage license, a census page, and a birth certificate might be good starters for people like me who aren't used to microformats.

I wish I had time to put together a bunch of examples. Maybe in a week or so. My expectation was that a marriage license, for example, would have a whole bunch of markup: HistoricalRecord (for the license itself), Family (for the family that was created by the marriage), Person (twice, once for each person in the marriage).

I would expect HistoricalRecord to also be present on a display of a person if the publisher wished to convey the source(s) of the information contained there, for example, a link to a birth certificate to document the birth date.
