@FranziskaJahn: Any updates on this?
I will cover this. Looking at other research project sites, a very short introductory text in a large font seems to be the norm for the index page.
For example, https://foreseeproject.eu/ has:
European research for a stronger and more resilient multimodal transport infrastructure. A EU collaborative research project 18 Partners 6 Case studies 9 Work Packages
https://www.humanbrainproject.eu/en/ has "Welcome to the Human Brain Project The Human Brain Project aims to put in place a cutting-edge research infrastructure that will allow scientific and industrial researchers to advance our knowledge in the fields of neuroscience, computing, and brain-related medicine".
In our case, such a short text is in the left sidebar right now:
A Health IT Ontology for systematically describing application systems and software products in health IT. By IMISE and UMIT.
I will move this from there to the index page. This has the added benefit of giving more space to the sidebar for more pages and to be fully visible on smaller monitors and also allows us to reduce the width of the sidebar if we so choose.

just asked (and assigned) Franziska how an index page for hito can be designed, maybe 2 or 3 pics with a short description of the project?! Please provide some ideas for me and i will realize it.
