We could add a new tab to the main window, named e.g. "explore". The tab would show you all the different ways you can find new people, merchants, ways to get/spend coins, etc.
Possible sections on that tab:
Waggle
Coinmap
how to get bitcoins (see "Need Bitcoins?" step in the initial wizard mockups - #47) - links to exchanges etc.
It would be a good place to move a few features to from the top menu, and a place to add new ones later instead of adding them to the menu too. It could replace some of the functionality lost by removing apps.
