Homekit Camera Light setting not sticky #829

Describe The Problem: Camera lights keep coming on. I am aware of the documentation of this feature and have turned off all of the lights in Homekit for all of my cameras. That works for a while but they come back on. The setting in Homekit is not sticky. As a reminder I have a fresh install of Homebridge and the Protect plugin based on my previous user error. This setting staying off worked before I screwed up my setup but now it doesn't seem to stay.

Thanks for the report.

I’m aware of this change in behavior in iOS 16. As I stated in another issue - this will be addressed in a future update.

In the meantime, you can disable HomeKit Secure Video in the plugin if you find this issue bothersome as a temporary workaround.
