Unsupported Version of Node.js being Recommended #929

Closed ucdscott closed 1 year ago

ucdscott commented 1 year ago

Describe The Problem: This Homebridge plugin is recommending Node.js v17:

"The homebridge-unifi-protect plugin recommends running on Node.js v17.0.0 or later. You are currently running Node.js v16.16.0."

Node.js v17 is not supported by Homebridge:

"Homebridge (and verified plugins) support all current Active and Maintenance LTS releases of Node.js. At the time of writing, this means we will support:

Node.js 12.x until April 2022
Node.js 14.x until April 2023
Node.js 16.x until September 2023
Node.js 18.x until April 2025

Homebridge does not support odd-numbered releases of Node.js, such as 13.x, 15.x, 17.x. or 19.x"

To Reproduce: Click the homebridge-unifi-protect v5.5.x Update button.

Homebridge makes the recommendations not HBUP. Regardless: Node 16 will be EOLed in a few months. I'd recommend upgrading to a supported version. 😄

Future release of both HBUP and Homebridge will be a bit more verbose I suspect. Thanks for the report.
