Homebridge makes the recommendations not HBUP. Regardless: Node 16 will be EOLed in a few months. I'd recommend upgrading to a supported version. 😄
Future release of both HBUP and Homebridge will be a bit more verbose I suspect. Thanks for the report.

Describe The Problem: This Homebridge plugin is recommending Node.js v17:
"The homebridge-unifi-protect plugin recommends running on Node.js v17.0.0 or later. You are currently running Node.js v16.16.0."
Node.js v17 is not supported by Homebridge:
"Homebridge (and verified plugins) support all current Active and Maintenance LTS releases of Node.js. At the time of writing, this means we will support:
Homebridge does not support odd-numbered releases of Node.js, such as 13.x, 15.x, 17.x. or 19.x"
To Reproduce: Click the homebridge-unifi-protect v5.5.x Update button.
