Why do we need Red5 server? #85

I am a newbie to SIP phone. Can Flash phone talk to Asterisk directly? It
seems red5phone use Red5 as a proxy. Can Flash work just like an ActiveX
control and talk to Asterisk since Asterisk support SIP/RTMP protocol.
