Notion of "copy to patient" #22

Some of our reports have an explicit notion of "copy to patient". We do not see how/where to encode that in the FHIR message. Is this needed or do we ignore this>

It should at least be mentionned that the patient has received a copy of the report, alos the other creport receivers should be mentionned

costateixeira commented 3 years ago

Is that something lab-specific? I think the communication workflows (who to be informed, status of reception) need to be handled in the HL7 BE Infrastructure workgroup, so that we come up with common, reusable mechanisms

Concerning "Is that something lab-specific" : YES and NO I do suppose that every lab mentions (for the completeness of the report all the receivers), but up to now every lab mentions this in its own way (or in the way an existing report format allows). With FHIR the rules can be adapted to follow the FHIR-standard.

I think the Lab report can pilot this need, but I expect other subjects to have the same need. We can start by finding a good way to include this in the lab workflow (I don't know how it would be in the report, or an extension to the Composition, or something else) and then we can invite others to build up on the same approach.

Suggestion of how to encode this here : https://github.com/hl7-be/hl7-be-fhir-laboratory-report/tree/master/testing/Macsys/20221119
