FR: Volvo Trucks Magazine Search

Description

As a business owner, I want to add a search and filtering functionality to my magazine so that users can easily search, filter, and locate specific topics, articles, news, truck models, etc.

Acceptance Criteria

User AC:

There is a prominently displayed search icon that will activate a dedicated search for magazine.
When users interact with secondary search bar on desktop/tablet devices by selecting "search magazine" or "All Topics" it shall open a dropdown box on the same page, with the names of the topic categories the user can select to filter content.
When users interact with secondary search bar on the mobile device, this shall open the bottom drawer to full screen mode until a user selects a category or clicks the exit icon.

Non-functional AC:

Limit the search so that magazine articles are the only search results displayed.
The secondary magazine search bar shall be fixed or "sticky" to remain at the top of the page while the user scrolls down the articles and magazine feed page.

Out of scope

General search page improvements.
Autocomplete for magazine search queries will be handled in a separate ticket after this ticket is delivered if needed.

This ticket will require search engine efforts.

Desktop + Tablet - When the user first comes to the web page on desktop/tablet, they shall see the following: Figma Link

When user interacts with the secondary search by clicking on the magazine search or All Topics, they shall see the following: Figma Link

Mobile: When the user first comes to the web page on a mobile device, they shall see the following: Figma Link

When user interacts by clicking on the secondary search icon or All Topics, they shall see the following: Figma Link

Questions

[ ] Does this apply only to the magazine area, or is it an enhancement for search in general? Answer: Only for magazine area.
[ ] Are the results only from the magazine? Answer: Yes
[ ] Does the search query already provide the data for all the filters? Yes (see Syb's comment below for more details)

The design should be updated, as it is updated compared to the newer designs. @williebender FYA

@cogniSyb our idea was that this would be only magazine results show here. I'm not sure I understand what " Does the search query already provide the data for all the filters?" means though

@cogniSyb in regards to your question "Does the search query already provide the data for all the filters?" - could you clarify this question? do you mean if you were type a filter word into the search instead of using the filter or is it something else?

@ZoeBeykirch I think I got my question answered here:

The issue description needs to be updated though, with corrected links on Figma. Currently the filters are divided by category, topic, truck. It will become just one filter as described in meeting/Figma.

@ZoeBeykirch I’m missing one item though from what I’ve seen in the design, which is the autocomplete. I’m not sure whether this is possible with the current search setup. My advice would be anyways to put that in a separate issue.

@cogniSyb Sounds good! I will note that autocomplete search queries are out of scope for this ticket and I have updated the Figma links in this ticket as well.
