Yes you are correct, issue 99 will add a functionality to export a section of
the map as a PNG image.
Keep in mind that a single image at the maximum zoom could be VERY large and most image viewers are not designed to handle such a huge images, if you want I could send you a sample image, just let me know your email and I send it...

I made a couple of PNG files (Zoom 5 & 6) in that way you have an idea how big
the files are going to be, the files are here:
http://www.sepuweb.com/res/demo/
This is a Zoom 6, Dimensions 2048 x 2048, Size 8.05 MB
http://www.sepuweb.com/res/demo/mapZ6.png
And this one is at Zoom 5, Dimensions 4096 x 4096, Size 25.5 MB

Thank you for replying this quickly;
1. I viewed your pics, I need to clarify that I need them in "google map"
format, nor "google earth"; I need it with the streets and buildings only, not
with clounds or relief.
2. The size is no problem, it could be above 300 MB too, I wouldn't mind.
Though I wanted it in maximum zoom capacity, in other words "-2".
3. I just need the map of my country i.e. Mauritius; Instead of doing
mind-boggling number of print-screen and combining them together, this software
could facilitate the task so....

Yo housejavi^^, Seems U hit into the same wall I did 2 months ago. so here's
the deal:
1. Download the map at the specified zoom level you want with GMapCatcher
2. Then use "SnagIT" software to take accurate snapshots
3. Finally use the Adobe Photoshop to merge them all
Note: Use transparency option on adobe to get precise results.

Yeah Ur uinglish is not correct LOL >_<
SnagIT is a software that allows for accurate snapshot (more that printscreen)
Try to read on it in google search.
But 1st lets try this enhancement byheldersepu.
P.s: SnagIT is a last recourse means pal, it will do the work but it takes time
to merge everything into one big map by using "Adobe Photoshop" (what is your
problem with Photoshop?) - I also understand french but not spanish, gomen ^^

Ok i try to explain the problem with photoshop.
I use photomerge with the photos downloaded in just one layer on several
folders with download button.
Ok, so after some minutes i see only one photo (small photo) and the others
behind, i see in google why and find that photoshop need the photos have
partialy the same on the sides (over 20%) and the photos of gmapcatcher don not
have the same sides, just combine in the border, so i don't join the photos.
Other thig, Snagit maybe will have less resolution photos, or not?

Hola Javi

http://code.google.com/p/gmapcatcher/downloads/detail?name=GMapCatcher-0.7.2.2.e
xe
