Paper Style: Body vs Appendix #106

We need to decide the style of our paper in terms of the level of detail that goes into the main body as opposed to the appendix.

I think the easiest thing to do is to leave all writing in the body and reserve the appendix for figures and code, only. This means just editing down what we have written to make it more succinct but not splitting it up into body and appendix portions.

That said, parts of the discussion on spine, legs, experimental procedure, simulation, and lots of electronics lend themselves towards being put into the appendix, as being somewhat extraneous information.

Chris, you mentioned having a mechatronic overview in the body and then putting these whole sections into the appendix; leaving mainly the intro, overview, and results in the main body. This could work but because our results are the weakest part of the report, I think this would highlight them too much. Our real triumph is the design, manufacturing, and control of this robot which is why I find myself leaning towards allowing a lot of these details to remain in the body as opposed to the appendix.

Thoughts? Any further editing is kind of tough without deciding if sections need to be divided between body and appendix...

i think this would be a good question to ask Holmes and Nosenchuck
