Microcomputer powered off main LiPo Batt BEC Solution #65

Looking into getting a cheap BEC which will step the voltage from the LiPo down to 5V without drawing to much power (causing heat issues).

Emailed Dimension Engineering: Good afternoon,

My robotics team is trying to power a Beagle Board Microcomputer @ 5V and up to a maximum of about 1A (typical draw is 750mA).

We have a LiPo 6S (22.2V) battery back that powers motors in our robotics system. We would ideally like to power our Beagle Board computer off this battery pack as well but obviously need to reduce the voltage to 5V and provide a clean DC signal that does not fluctuate.

It seems the Parkflyer BEC your company makes might be a good fit for this application as it can take up to an 8S battery source and deliver 5V @ up to 1.5A. Is this correct or would you suggest any of your other products?

Thanks,

Chris Payne

Received:

Yes, those specifications are correct. The ParkBEC would be a good choice.

Ordered. Will test to see if power loss/ DC signal is clean enough for BB
