• In a typical journey on our service this term may be referenced multiple times on a page, with first use being in headings. To expand this first usage makes for very long headings in some scenarios.

Research

Users have commented on long headings and the constant repetition of the term within the service - especially experienced users who are already familiar with the terminology in use. Their preference seems to be for the term to be explained on one page and then abbreviated thereafter.

My preference would be to see MRNs treated similarly to EORIs - where it is not necessary to expand the MRN on first use.
