Description

Current state: The menu items on the side navigation bar has no active state

Resolution: The active state on the side navigation should be orange, as shown in the design. As a user, I want the active state on the side navbar to have a distinct color (orange) so that I can easily identify which section or page I am currently on.

Acceptance Criteria

[ ] The active state on the side navbar is updated with a distinct color that is visually distinct and contrasts well with the background.
[ ] The active state is easily identifiable and distinguished from the hover and focus states.
[ ] The updated active state styling is consistent across all devices, screen sizes, and browsers.
[ ] The active state color and styling meet accessibility standards, including sufficient color contrast.
[ ] The active state is accessible to users with disabilities, including those using screen readers or with color vision deficiencies.
