rfcomm is not working in btstack

Original issue reported on code.google.com by fam.re...@googlemail.com on 5 Jan 2010 at 5:39

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
that's a bit hard. example/rfcomm.c is working for outgoing connections and data
transfer quite reliable.

And is there any progress ???

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
yes, I've implemented l2cap incomig, which is a prerequisite for rfcomm
incoming. in general RFCOMM incoming
is rather low on my personal priority list and I just don't have enough time.
no need to give up hope yet :)

Hi, matthias, I asked the developer of openwatch what he needs exactly to start
developing and he said "Bluetooth stack (or API) that supports RFCOMM (server
connection) with advertising custom SDP", so what is currently missing ??

I've just started on a project with a friend to provide full OBEX support for
iOS. The two crucial components are SDP and RFCOMM (both directions). I've
recently finished a working SDP server which is already in the latest BTstack
Cydia update. I'll be working on full RFCOMM support in the next time and
release it when it is working. I hope for an ETA in 2 months.

If people would have helped me with BTstack - like implementing missing parts -
it would have happened earlier. ;)

I just want to ask you how is it going, if you want I could do some beta tests.

It's going well. I'm looking into integrating the new credit-based L2CAP flow
control into RFCOMM. I'm fine, I'll have to write code first, and test it. If
it works, no need for further tests :)

Any updates on this? Just bought my wife an MBW-200 for Xmas and would love to
have it work for her :). Thanks in advance.

Nice. I just got an inPulse watch :)
The RFCOMM is getting along with our OBEX implementation. A public release of
RFCOMM in time to get your watch connected before Xmas looks quite possible. :)

hi Matthias, I would like use your very nice RFCOMM project in both directions.
when is it possible to get on cydia? maybe you have any example apps (send and
receive some ASCII commands) for testing like your BT GPS.

Original comment by Mrh...@googlemail.com on 5 Nov 2010 at 10:29

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
BTstack GPS uses the code from example/rfcomm.c and the BTstack from Cydia. No
ETA for the newer RFCOMM stuff (I hate missing deadlines :)

oh I'm confused, maybe it already works as put of your comments on outgoing
connections? so if I have a bluetooth SDP/RFCOMM device. I can find it by
name (SDP), connect to it, then send some ASCII commands to it, and then read
its responses? will this work witht he current version of BTStack?

Original comment by EvoS...@gmail.com on 2 Dec 2010 at 8:09

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
yes. it's fine for a single outgoing connections (on all iOS versions)
