As previously announced, several changes are coming to how Hattrick head coaches are hired, paid and presented on the site.
First of all, coaching skill is now presented with an icon and a value between 1 (weak) and 5 (excellent), in the same way all other staff skills are showed. The actual skills have not been modified in any way.
Coaches will start being paid a regular staff salary in line with their skill level, comparable to what other staff members are paid.
Important: This does NOT affect any current coaches. They stay salary-free until you replace them.
Any new coaches between today and the end of the new season will be paid a symbolic salary (10 % of the actual coach salary) during their whole careers.
Then, starting the season after this new one, full coach salaries will be implemented for new coaches.
What’s more, coaches will no longer be players by default.
Externally hired coaches will never be able to have player status, while the option still exists for internal recruits. A coach that is kept on as a player will expect to be paid both a coach salary and their old player salary. While the coach salary will not change over time, the player salary will fall if skills deteriorate, just like always.
Naturally, only a player-coach will be visible on the player overview page or in match order forums.
When recruiting a player coach, the player will no longer magically heal from any injury.
