Which version of OpenMeetings are you running?
r1766

What's your operating system on client and server side?
client: windows vista x64 sp1 - server Ubuntu Srv 8.04 LTS

Is it a problem related to the client/usability or server-side?

When creating a new room, if the advanced config panel is opened, only the
settings are visible, not the description of the settings.

hi,

I cannot duplicate that, I've added a screen, the labels and description is 
visible
for me. Or am I missing something?

Sorry, I should be more precise.
Your screenshot is identical to mine (except for italian language translation).
But I cannot understand to which part of the room the settings are intended.
I seem to remember that over the settings there was labels indicating 
Whiteboard, 
Chat/file/users etc...
I attach you a file with red text added by me.

I found an older version I had installed on another server here.
Here is the screenshot of the advanced room configuration.
I remembered well! :):)
