Unable to change pipe size

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load an image, use the pipe size combo to change pipe size
2. Run the pipe, automatically or manually, doesn’t affect the result

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- The pipe runs, pipe size combo shows the new pipe size but image size does 
NOT change, stays at the old size instead.
- No resizer is active

- Initially reported for Ubuntu 12.04, confirmed on Mint 14.
- Works fine on Win 7.
- Bug probably introduced with the merge from spotrepair branch
