Getting SimplePie error after upgrading from 2.0.1 #168

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have working 2.0.1 installation
2. Uninstall all components
3. Install 2.1.0 RC2 components
4. Add a GCalendar type calendar (a Google type calendar works fine)
5. Get error: "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class SimplePie in /
homepages/44/d196286661/htdocs/AUTKE/libraries/simplepie/simplepie.php on
line 346"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A calendar.

What version are you using?
joomla: 1.5.10
php: 5.2.9 http://www.autke.org/phpinfo.php
mysql: 5
apache:
os:
Browser: IE8, Opera9

Please provide your web site url.
http://www.autke.org/index.php?
option=com_gcalendar&view=gcalendar&Itemid=39

Interestingly, the only difference between this site, and other gCalendar
instances running on my other sites on the same server, is that this site
had gCalendar 2.0.1 installed before at some point.

do you have mod rss enabled on the same page?? because a bug in joomla mod_rss
causes
this error......use slick rss instead....

Yes, I did have mod_rss displaying a feed on that page. I'll try Slick RSS,
thanks.

If the fix is on their end, does the Joomla project have a ticket for this? It
would be preferable to use the built in RSS.

I have no mod called mod_rss

For RSS feeds I use the standard Joomla called mod_feed. Is that the same one?

OK it appears mod_feed is the same thing. If I disable this module then
Upcoming
events works fine. I will try Slick RSS as suggested. Thanks for your help.
