Patch:

Impossible to efficiently clear and replace all XY series from a 
XYMultipleSeriesDataset .

I suggest to patch the XYMultipeSeriesDataset in order to add 2 methods:

        /**
     * Remove all the series in this dataset.
     * 
     */
    public synchronized void clear() {
        mSeries.clear();
    }
    /**
     * Add all the XY series provided by the specified source 
     * into this dataset.
     * 
     * @param source the dataset containing the series to be added
     */
    public synchronized void addAll(XYMultipleSeriesDataset source) {
        mSeries.addAll(source.mSeries);
    }
