Intermittent problem on HTC One

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Awake device with power button
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sometimes the lights stay on, sometimes they don't.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.0.8-m7Test03.apk (from XDA)

Please provide any additional information below.
Attached is logcat taken using CatLog app.  Hope this is okay.
I switched on the screen (power button), the cap buttons lit up for a second or 
so then went off.  So i went into your app, chose the bottom option and they 
lit up again.  At that point I saved the logcat.

Thank you for logging this issue here and attaching the information that you 
did.  I looked at the LogCat and unfortunately I can't see anything in it that 
looks out of the ordinary.  I have a guess that this is because there is a race 
condition between the app changing the state of the buttons and the OS.  I'll 
keep this issue open for now while I ponder a solution, if that is indeed the 
problem.
