[feature request] Add pango names to Per Country page #313

This is a cool site! Thanks for making it!

Request: Can you please include the pango names in the legend on the Per Country page? The media refers to them that way and so that's how a lot of people (including me) know them. (It wasn't so bad when every variant got a new greek letter, but now everything is Omicron, so it's much harder to tell what's what.)

Hi @lobsterkatie - I'm so glad you like CoVariants! 😄

I agree that with the scarcity of new Greek Letter names things are a little more confusing. At the moment, adding Pango lineages to the graphs isn't high priority - it would make the display very cluttered, and would probably be better to have a way to flip between them. However, that would take some coding that we don't have the manpower to implement at the moment!

You can always check back to the variant table on the main page to see how they relate to the Nextstrain names, and I'll keep this request in mind for possible future updates!
