Error while trying to `pip install peppi-py`: No Module named 'maturin' #3

Open trstruth opened 3 months ago

Hello!

While trying to run pip install peppi-py on windows with python 3.12.4, I get the error `ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'maturin'. I've installed maturin into the same venv but the error persists. I've included the entire stack trace below, but I've a feeling that I'm making some silly error here. Have you run into this error before?

looks like this might be a windows specific issue, pip install peppi-py goes off without a hitch in wsl. Definitely still interested in using this package from windows though!

hohav commented 3 months ago

Thanks for the report. What happens if you pip install maturin first?

trstruth commented 3 months ago

yeah installing it in the same virtualenv or using the same sys wide python doesn't seem to work: image

hohav commented 2 months ago

@trstruth could you try the latest release, v0.7.1?
