Issue with Registering on Windows #30

Open syndicalt opened 1 year ago

syndicalt commented 1 year ago

I had a previous installation of Realm on MacOS and downloaded the windows install package.

Upon attempting to register my existing account using the "Already Signed Up?" option, I put in my e-mail address and got a message that the account was not found.

I reached out to @holium on Twitter and he gave me a new invite code, which I put in and tried to register with the same e-mail address and it said that an account already exists. When I then tried with a different e-mail address it said that an account cannot be found.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it appears the invite code was consumed and I can no longer use it.

Hey, sorry to hear about your issue. What is the original email you used in signing into Realm?

Are you the original poster?

Oh shoot, yea. Didn't realize I was logged in under this account. Let me switch to validate.

Hey, can you give it another shot? The team said they fixed that issue. Let me know if it works for you now! Thanks

Still getting account not found.

It looks like the issue might be the single quote in the string for validation?

Thearellica commented 1 year ago

If you use the different email and new code you got, it should work that way now! I was informed that the 'Already signed up?' method is currently undergoing some changes and won't be working for a short period.

I'm getting that it's already been used when I try to use it again. If the "Already signed up" thing is going to be fixed soon I can just use my Mac. I wanted to try it on the PC because my Mac is old and slow...but I can wait until the fix.

Just saw your message on Twitter, the "Already signed up?" option issue will be fixed once our new onboarding is completed! Bare with us. We will post on Twitter once the new onboarding flow is live!
