Oversampling (both its own, as well as external) change the plugin's character #1

When measuring the plugin's frequency response (using Bertom EQ Curve Analyser), it turns out that oversampling changes it.

This happens with both the "OVS" switch, as well as when applying external oversampling using Reaper's feature for that.

My guess is that the plugin corrects for changes in sample rate twice, as an increase in sample rate makes the frequency spectrum move down towards the lower frequencies.

I don't think the plug-in's frequency response makes any sense, since the nature of the algorithm is that it's very nonlinear, and the way these analyzers draw the frequency response requires that the algorithm is linear.

Do you actually hear a difference in the sound with oversampling enabled? The only thing I hear is that the sound becomes clearer because the aliases disappear. But my ears aren't the youngest anymore. 😄
