Change the appearence of submissions on the front page so they are truncated. Instead of making the whole div a button, add a link "story", or whatever. This will also make it more apparent that the Unpopulated stories are displayed by the choices thtat lead to them.
Add the vote displays (but no vote buttons), and posted by "username"

Add more margin at the bottom.
