I had the same exact 'add' command error when trying to run fluke. The only
relevant change since it last worked was installing the latest itunes update
10.6.3 (25).

So I time machine reverted itunes to the version I had before the update, which
is showing 10.6.1 (7). Fluke is working again with that version.

Something in the latest itunes update broke fluke.

Same experience with OS X 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.6.3. Reverting to 10.6.1.
Installer available here:

Same problem with OSX 10.7 and ITunes 10.6.3 but cannot revert, because ITunes
cannot be removed due to OSX limitation (is a part of OS) and the installer of
previous version cannot be used. How do you avoid this problem? Thanks

This should work though didn't try yet myself ->

Step one, Run Activity Monitor and find iTunes Helper and Force Quit it.
Step Two, Delete iTunes by dragging it to the trash.
Alternatively open the terminal app and run command"sudo rm -rfv
/Applications/iTunes.app/"

Same issue as OP.
Using iOS Mountain Lion 10.8.2, iTunes 11.0.1 (12), and Fluke 0.2.5b

Any resolution?

I'm having the problem too. Fluke 0.2.5b is crashing immediately when i try to
convert a FLAC.
i'm on a new (late-2012 model) Mac Mini running OS 10.8.2 and iTunes 11.0.2
(26). the error message reads:

Fluke Error -
An unexpected error has occurred during execution
of the main script.

AttributeError: Unknown property, element or
command: 'startup_disk'

i've never had any problems with Fluke on my old OS 10.6.8 machine. i sure
hope it gets fixed. it's such a great app!

Guys, you'll get the error but when you hit terminate you can still drag the
song into iTunes!!! Multiple add's don't work. But song per song does…

no, i know the error you're talking about and i used to work around that one,
just as you recommended. this is not that. it appears that Fluke does not
work on OS 10.8 at all, as it won't even convert individual files.

i've got the newest version of iTunes on another computer, running 10.6.8, and
Fluke works fine. it must be a fundamental problem with 10.8. it won't work
in 32bit mode, nor in 64...

Guys, I actually think I found a way. This worked for me: I simply quit both
iTunes and Fluke, then clicked on the Fluke app in the dock. When I did that,
iTunes started. Then I could, from the Finder, drag .flac files one by one to
iTunes directly.
I'm on an iMac 7,1, 10.8.4 and iTunes 11.0.4.
