From Jared and Amber:* We aim to connect Massey University Design students with Start-up businesses to work on curated design briefs.These start-up business will not only get access to designers but also a creative network. The students that take part will gain confidence through the experience and learn communication skills as well as a better understanding of working with real clients.

To ensure that the value of the design work is not under appreciated, packages will be offered dependent on what the specific start-up needs in terms of design work. These packages will be priced at market rates yet with an applicable discount that outlines the time and involvement invested by the start up.

This facilitation is looking to manifest into an event with an accompanying guide or tool-kit for both start up and designers in order to help negotiate the relationship.

At this stage, we are looking to gage interest from and connect with start-companies in order to ensure that the project is realistic and viable; as well to gain insights into the world of start-ups.

i'm in favor of pursuing this to see where it leads. i reckon we need design help at least on our brand and visual feel for our marketing, but we could feed any designs into our current app development.

i went along with this and talked with @nanz, here's what she said after our conversation, very awesome. :fireworks:

cool looks like we might get some design interns. I'm happy to creative direct them. I'm meeting the organisers of the internship on monday/tuesday next week. I'll keep you in the loop :)
