This PR is to be evaluated in conjunction with this PR providing a full refactor of the holoviews library. It shouldn't be merged until the holoviews PR has been merged and the repository renamed.

After restarting the travis build, the tests pass so I think this is ready to merge.

Ok, though there are various locations here and in the other PR where "DataViews" became "holoviews"; shouldn't those be "HoloViews" (the name of the project) or at least "Holoviews", not "holoviews" (the name of the Python module)?
