Battle pet stats change between fights, at least the visual on power and speed, which makes determining breeds difficult. This updates the tooltip for attacks to show a different damage number but as far as I can tell the actual damage does not change, so this may be visual only.
Debuffs have no visual as well except occasionally showing a 0 round effect, however they do seem to reduce the damage. There are some damage numbers I am seeing that seem way too high for level 1 critters which is the only non-visual bug with them I have found so far but generally the system itself holds fine I think.
