I have to admit that I don't have a direct use for it at the moment, but I'd like to see how fond I will become of it by just trying it.
This does bring up an idea that I had in the past, which might be of interest to you as well. I have been pondering about a way to receive desktop notification of my desktop on my phone. Yes, the exact opposite of what you have now.
In particular progress indications is what I'm interested in. I.e. have a way to hook into any specific progress bar/dialog and have it notify you on your phone how far it's completed and especially when it's finished.
This way you can walk away from your system when you started a long process and know when you can return again. Tasks could range from copying files, to downloads, to compiles.
