I have no idea what it would entail to implement a way to reply to text messages from the desktop, but it would be really great to have the ability.
Unfortunately, I am not much of a GNOME programmer, so I would be wary of trying my own hand at it, but if someone could figure out what is needed, I might be persuaded to try. At any rate, I shall be more than happy to help with testing.
