Since the Android logo is missing on that page it's meant to indicate Android is not supported. This is how it is on every page in the docs and not just the sound page.
It seems a bit obscure convention that most users would not be familiar with. From the documentation UX perspective, making it more obvious would be very helpful.
FWIW notification channels on Android allow you to achieve similar results if you can plan ahead (as each channel can be customized to use a specific sound). We could add an info box to point that out I think.
