Flicd - Fails bluetooth set up when selecting hci #102588

The problem

The only Bluetooth devices I'm using are Flic buttons. I'm using pschmitt’s repository

I'm using the latest HA software running Home Assistant Operating System on a dell mini PC. It has built-in Bluetooth.

Until recently this was working perfectly. But now I get a failed to set up in the integrations page

I purchased an ASUS BT500 which is listed on the supported adapters page to see if by Built in Bluetooth had just broken which isn't the case.

In the Flicd Add-On I can see that I can select the hci, this was always set to hci0 for the built in Bluetooth. With the BT 500 installed I get the option to use hci0 and hci1. I've noticed that as soon as I set one of the hci's the Bluetooth it fails on the integration page. If I change from hci0 to hci1 then the other device fails. I can continue to change between 0 and 1 and I see instant fails.

Please let me know how I can provide more information

I see this on the integrations page

Can anybody help? If I need to go through more troubleshooting please advise me what to do. Not having my flic buttons working is a real pain Thanks

I suspect most folks have migrated away from flicd to using one of the Flic Hub SDK based solutions:

If you have a Flic Hub LR, this is a much nicer solution. However, if you don't, you'll have to disable the built-in Bluetooth integration because the flicd addon is not designed to share the adapter. Or add another adapter, I guess.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. Please make sure to update to the latest Home Assistant version and check if that solves the issue. Let us know if that works for you by adding a comment 👍 This issue has now been marked as stale and will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.
